The Ultimate Wedding Bridesmaid Checklist
Being a bridesmaid is an honour — and a big help to the bride. Whether you’re the maid of honour or part of the bridal party, this wedding bridesmaid checklist will make sure you’ve got everything covered from the first fitting to the final dance. A little planning goes a long way in keeping the bride stress-free and the big day running smoothly.

Before the Wedding
- Order bridesmaid dresses (and allow time for alterations)
- Coordinate accessories (shoes, jewellery, wraps, etc.)
- Help plan and attend the hen party or bridal shower
- Offer emotional support and check in with the bride regularly
- Attend dress fittings or planning appointments when invited
- Buy or make a thoughtful gift for the bride
Pre-Wedding Essentials
- Confirm travel and accommodation details
- Make sure your dress and accessories are ready to go
- Pack a day-of emergency kit (plasters, tissues, sewing kit, etc.)
- Have hair/makeup brief or inspiration photos ready
- Know your timeline for the morning prep and transport
Ceremony Duties
- Help the bride get dressed and calm any nerves
- Hold her bouquet during the ceremony
- Assist with managing the train or veil if needed
- Smile and stay present in the moment (and in the photos!)
Reception Responsibilities
- Give a speech or toast if requested
- Help guide guests to their seats or answer questions
- Be the first on the dancefloor to encourage others
- Check in on the bride throughout the evening
- Help collect cards or keepsakes at the end of the night
Optional Extras
- Create a keepsake scrapbook or memory box for the bride
- Coordinate a surprise from the bridesmaids (dance, message, etc.)
- Decorate the bridal suite or send-off car
